DPRINT Celebrates Earth Day 2018

earth day

Today businesses, organizations, citizens, and agencies all over the world are celebrating Earth Day, an annual celebration championing recognition of, and support for, environmental responsibility and protection. Since its founding in 1970, Earth Day has steadily gained supporters, and while those supporters identify more and more ways to celebrate this important day, they also learn more about its importance each year.

We’ve seen important improvements since its inception. For example, some animal species are recovering from the threat of extinction. The Black-Eyed Leaf Frog has moved from the classification of critically endangered to a species of least concern. The Striped Bass has also become a thriving species once again. Earth Day is also responsible for the formation of the Environmental Protection Agency and has helped create the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act.

10 Simple Ways Companies & Citizens Can Celebrate Earth Day

  1. Encourage your employees and coworkers to use public transportation, carpool, bike or walk to work. Fewer cars on our roads help support cleaner air.
  2. Search social media and community bulletin boards for community activities and get the whole family involved. Use your social media share button to increase awareness and invite family and friends to join in.
  3. Start a companywide recycling program and encourage employees to recycle in their homes and communities.
  4. Check your home and business facility for leaky faucets and other inadvertent wastes of water and other natural resources.
  5. Businesses who routinely send out paper bills and flyers, should consider switching to email notifications. Consumers can also opt-in to paperless billing. Trees and forests will thank you with cleaner air.
  6. Opt for recyclable water bottles versus disposable plastic ones. Plastic is clogging our oceans and filling our landfills at alarming rates.
  7. Get involved in local and national legislation that lobbies for legislative reforms to protect the earth for present and future generations.
  8. Does your corporation sponsor a school? Does your family have school-age children? Ask school officials how you can support Earth Day in schools. Making the protection and preservation of the environment important to children increases the likelihood of their taking it seriously as they become adults.
  9. Take a walk, take a hike, enjoy a picnic or ride a bike. Enjoy the warmth of the sun and a breath of fresh air. One of the best ways to appreciate nature is to get out in it.
  10. Donate to organizations and do business with corporations who champion sustainability.

At DPRINT, we take our environment seriously. While sustainability is part of the way we do business every day, it is also one of our most important corporate hallmarks. We’d love to have you join us in this important cause. Start by celebrating Earth day today. Then look ahead to next year. Start planning what you do to make more people aware of Earth Day 2019. When each of us does our small part, all of us reap enormous benefits.

HAPPY EARTH DAY!!!
