Happy Fourth of July From The DPRINT & MYDPRINT Families

Independence Day

Families and communities all over the US celebrate Independence Day with picnics, fireworks, music, and parades. Business owners and marketers typically host sales and offer special discounts on the Fourth of July, as well. In addition to generating sales and increased profitability, it can also be an ideal holiday for you to get to know your ideal consumers and for letting them get to know you. Here are six tips for creating genuine, heartfelt engagement with your target audience on the day we all celebrate our nation’s independence.

  • Ask your customers and blog readers open-ended questions about how their family celebrates the holiday. Try asking for holiday décor tips and ideas. You can also ask for suggestions on games and activities to keep the little ones busy while the adults tend to the food on the grill and prepping side dishes.
  • Tell customers how you and your friends and family celebrate the Fourth. This works especially well for brick and mortar businesses that serve local communities. Do you post a ‘Closed For The Holiday’ sign on your storefront door or window? Try adding a postscript to your sign that directs customers to your blog for more info on what you and your family are up to that day – especially if you’re participating in a community event.
  • Give customers a behind the scenes look at how you decide which products and services to put on sale for the holiday. Many customers appreciate a look at how the back end of your business works. They’ll respond especially well if you ask them what products and services they’d like to see on sale to celebrate next year’s Independence Day and other upcoming holidays.
  • Does your small business serve veterans and their families? Invite them to share stories of bravery, heroism, and personal triumphs during their service to our armed forces. Many vets and their loved ones enjoy opportunities to share their stories. Additionally, their stories need to be passed down and these brave men and women deserve to be celebrated and honored.
  • If your business is open on the Fourth of July, host more than a holiday sale event. Invite your customers and your entire community to stop by for free hamburgers, grab-n-go snacks, chips, cold beverages, and holiday-themed giveaways.
  • Volunteerism and community spirit go a long way toward building good customer relations. Sponsor community events and little league teams. Encourage your staff to get in on the fun and participate, too. You can enter a float in the local parade or dress your employees in patriotic colors and have them toss candy to the parade goers.
